What is Deep Discipleship?
Are you hungry to grow deeper in your faith? Do you want to learn more about God and his Word and be better equipped to share your faith with your family, friends, and neighbors? Deep Discipleship is a comprehensive program that provides churches a two semester, 24-week discipleship course to meet this deep desire to equip and disciple their people into a greater love and knowledge of God. The video-based training includes a clear scope of discipleship and integrated curriculum which balances Christian story (Bible literacy), Christian belief (theological literacy), and Christian formation (spiritual disciplines).
What does it cover?
The course content of Deep Discipleship is aimed not just at the head, but also at the heart and hands. Deep Discipleship integrates learning in three areas: the STORY of the Bible, important BELIEFS (doctrines) taught in the Bible, and spiritual FORMATION (how Christians ought to live). Over the course of two, 12-week semesters (Fall/Spring), students will cover the entire STORY of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. In addition, students will explore the major doctrines of Scripture to help establish right BELIEF that is based upon Scripture. All of this takes place in a context where students are encouraged through assignments to grow in their spiritual FORMATION as disciples of Christ.

What am I signing up for?
Deep Discipleship is not a casual Bible study. It is an intensive course designed to help you grow deeper in your walk with Christ. As such, it is more demanding than most Sunday School classes. Students are expected to be present for each Sunday evening class. A substantial portion of the class will be spent in small group "table time" where participants will be discussing the topics presented that night, so participation in group discussions is crucial. Also, students will be expected to read from Scripture as well as one or more books each week. The pre-work each week includes 6-10 chapters of Bible reading and an additional 1-2 chapters from the provided digital books. Ideally, the pre-work for each week will take you about 2 hours to complete, but it also can be done in 90 minutes depending upon how fast of a reader you are.
What is the cost?
Pricing is based upon the number of people that sign up, with the price per person decreasing with more students:
$55 per person (if you use the included eBooks) | $87 per person (if you want hard copies of the three books shown below)
Students will be provided with an *electronic* copy (e-book) of the three course books for free. (see below)
However, students who wish to have a hard copy of these books may purchase them bundled for an additional cost (see above).

The Deep Discipleship course is a significant commitment, so we encourage students to pay for their own course materials if possible. However, we do not want the cost of the course materials to prevent anyone from growing deeper in their faith! So, if the cost is an issue, please let Pastor Jason know.
Who is this for?
Deep Discipleship is for any believer who desires to go deeper in their faith and is willing to put forth the time and effort required to do so. It is ideal for small group and Sunday School teachers, youth leaders, lifelong Christians who want to go beyond surface-level discussions, and even for newer believers. Eventually, we would like to see every member of our church go through this program at least once. Due to the reading requirements and the depth of theological discussions in this program, it is not well suited for children. But, mature high school students who are eager to grow and willing to invest the time and effort will find this program extremely helpful.
When is it?
The group meetings will be held on Sunday evenings, time TBD (likely 6:00-7:30pm). Fall and Spring semesters are 12 weeks each and will break for major holidays. Dates TBD.
What about childcare?
In order to give our volunteers the opportunity to participate in Deep Discipleship, we will not offer childcare during the meetings. We encourage couples who wish to attend to find childcare on their own, or consider sending one spouse this year and the other spouse next year.

Pre-Work for Session 1
Remember, each week will have "Pre-work" that needs to be completed before you come on Sunday evening. (No, I'm not going to ask you to turn in homework! I trust that you're doing this course because you want to grow in your faith, and the best way to do that is by putting in the work. Life happens, and I get that, so don't just not show up if you can't get the pre-work done!) There is an "Orientation Week" in the book, but we will not actually meet for a separate orientation, we're just going to dive in to Week 1. So, you'll need to do the orientation and the pre-work for Week 1 all before we meet on September 7th.
• Read the introduction on pp. 7-17 of your DD Journal (gray cloth book) and familiarize yourself with the course. • Download your eBooks (if needed) by following the instructions on p. 304 of your DD Journal. • Read the Orientation on pp. 19-23 and watch the Orientation Video on p. 21 (scan the QR code with your phone to access). • Complete the Pre-Work for Week 1 on p. 26 • Read the "Foundational Reading" on p. 27.
